The archaeological sites of Nice: a walk through the past

Go back in time with three visits to archaeological sites where actual excavations around Nice have taken place.

A step back to the Middle Ages awaits you at the Cimiez site, between bones and tools. On the site of Terra Amata, the oldest historical habitations (dating back 400,000 years) are there, frozen in time and assuring a dizzying sense of time travel.

The Crypt, located in the Old Nice, is a vast underground room, 2,000 sqm in size, located six metres underground. Access to this 14th-century site is through an underground hatch with a guide, whose passion for the place is contagious, giving you a sense of what it must have felt like for the archaeologists who made these discoveries. The vestiges are dimly lit, accentuating the feeling of depth. The age of the place is palpable, like the wisdom that seems to be incarnated there. Here, nothing is dangerous, but you will not forget your time crossing the suspension bridge!
