Day 1: Sunset Strip in a convertible and wide-screen Cinerama

You are an ardent fan of Entourage, HBO's flagship series that aired between 2004 and 2011 and won six Emmy Awards. This no-holds-barred comedy set behind the scenes of the star system was shot almost exclusively in Los Angeles and it has always made you want to explore the city and the fantasies it holds. The madcap ideas of Vincent Chase, a New York actor who turns up on the palm-tree-lined streets of California with his gang of friends in tow, had you in stitches. Follow in the footsteps of Vince, his best friend and manager Eric, his failed-actor brother Johnny, the lovable Turtle and the one who adds spice to the series, Ari Gold, his agent, abrasive, hot-tempered and emotional all at the same time.

To see the city in style, pick up some luxury wheels from a rental agency. With the wind blowing in your hair, re-enact the opening theme from the series by playing “Superhero” by Jane's Addiction at full blast. Cruise down Sunset Strip, the smartest section of Sunset Boulevard as it crosses West Hollywood.

Stop off at the hip boutique hotel, Mondrian, where Vince moved in after selling his house to buy the rights of a film. Sit back by the pool as you sip a drink from the Skybar, the hotel's rooftop bar with to-die-for views over the city. Continuing along Sunset Boulevard, you come to the ArcLight multiplex, where Vince premiered his first feature film, Head On. Go and watch a film shown in the Cinerama Dome. Its huge curved screen gives you the most amazing viewing experience!

Rising majestically above Sunset Boulevard is the iconic hotel Chateau Marmont. A vintage hideaway popular with celebrities, this mysterious and sometimes notorious landmark was designed with Amboise château in France in mind. But it is so much more than a hotel. Book a table in its restaurant. As you savour a plate of poached shrimp with cashew nut and lime or a dish of parmesan-grilled artichokes with a side of delicious truffle fries, your mind will recall the scene where the gang of friends come to the hotel to meet the director of Queens Boulevard.

Day 2: Hip restaurants and cocktails at the Roosevelt Hotel bar

Start the day with an organic breakfast on the terrace of Urth Caffé, located on Melrose Avenue. In the series, this famous and trendy café was used as the set for many meals. In fact, when you go there, you might just bump into a celebrity or two. On the second day of your visit, go and do a bit of antique-hunting at the Melrose Trading Post flea market which prides itself in promoting small independent designers.

Continue your visit to the neighbourhood of Beverly Grove. Koi restaurant will make your mouth water with its sophisticated Japanese dishes: asparagus sautéed in lemon zest, tuna carpaccio with yuzu pepper or what about lobster tacos with mango salsa. What a treat! This cool eaterie with its mood lighting also features in an episode of Entourage, when Ari and Eric have dinner there to discuss Vince's career.

Next stop is somewhere out of the ordinary which you are already a bit familiar with… The Tropicana Pool & Café at the Roosevelt Hotel has as its centrepiece the swimming pool depicted by David Hockney in his famous painting, A Bigger Splash (1967). In Entourage, you are introduced to this place in a famous episode from Season 7 where Vince, in a really black mood, goes to an incredible party that goes badly downhill. By all means, have a cocktail or one of the many detox juices on offer, but do not re-enact the scene!

Day 3: Canyon walks and Beverly Hills chill-out

Head to the heights with a drive through the Hollywood Hills. Drive to the south of Runyon Canyon Park with its hiking trails and discover the places where your favourite characters lived. At 882 Camino Palmero Street, you will find Ari's house, while further up at number 1847 is the manor house where Vince Chase lived for several seasons.

Park your car on North Fuller Avenue and climb the footpath until you get to the lookout point. The valley of Los Angeles stretches out before you. It is an idyllic vista, best seen just as the sun is setting. You now deserve a bit of chill-out time at the Montage Beverly Hills, an exclusive Mediterranean-style hotel, located in the heart of the famous district of the same name. Some scenes were filmed in this temple of luxury for the series' spin-off film. Feel like an actor from the series and clink champagne glasses in the spa's hot tub. Indulge your pleasure a bit longer with a 100% vegan lunch beside the pool. Avocado toast, orange fennel and radish salad or other acai bowls are guaranteed to delight, as will the magnificent view over the hills of the City of Angels.
