Only a few miles away and accessible from Marrakech via the Amizmiz road, Lalla Takerkoust lake owes its name to the local patron saint. At the foot of the Atlas mountain, this artificial stretch of water appeared a century ago due the construction of a dam. Inhabitants of Marrakech love to go there and enjoy a cool day, away from the ebullient Red City.
Enjoy moments of peace and quiet and take a dip in the lake. The place also offers a unique landscape for a convivial picnic. For those who love to bask in the sun, the lakeshores are very welcoming. Sports enthusiasts will be able to practice paddle boat, windsurfing and canoeing. If you want to explore the surroundings, quads and motorcycles are available. And finally, if you want to prolong your stay, it is possible to sleep on the spot, in either inns or guesthouses.
