Le Ventre de l'Architecte, authentic cuisine at Le Corbusier

Ingenious alliances, sometimes risqué, always felicitous. They have made the reputation of this gastronomic restaurant in the Cité radieuse.

At the heart of the famous Cité Radieuse designed by Le Corbusier in the 1950s, is this surprising gourmet restaurant, named after the Peter Greenaway film, The Belly of an Architect. Decorated in white wood and grey marble, the dining room is intimate, relaxing, and most of all timeless. The terrace, with its exceptional view, resembles a ship's passage with its wooden bridge, 1930s iron chairs and tables inspired by Jean Prouvé's iconic Compass models.

This is an authentic place with authentic cuisine. A meal here puts you in the hands of talented chef Jérôme Caprin, who elegantly showcases local produce and innovative flavour combinations in a host of elegant dishes: an ode to fine dining. In the evening, the gourmet offerings may include roasted scallops with saffron potatoes and "burnt" leeks, eggplant caviar with cashews, zucchini, mint, Espelette pepper and honey, or a slow-cooked filet of bull with potatoes en gratin, truffle and pepper sauce. For dessert, honey-roasted butternut, light vanilla mousse and caramel ice cream will bring closure to a delightful meal.
